Her mastering of the Arabic language and the English language is perfect, I have published many articles on www.mlfcham.com and https://independent.academia.edu/AminElsaleh.  She corrected  with an eloquent style my playwright written in Arabic "الإنقلابيون"; but all this is not enough and does not reproduce her great soul.

Khairat Al-Saleh

Khairat is the Arab version of the outstanding Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Mary Ann Evans famous as George Eliot.

She is a female Arab version of Homer. I was lucky to meet her once on October first 1961, when her brother Amin Saleh was arrested for a unique act of heroism with Antoine Gennaoui and we went to his rescue with Hassan Djabri, Bicher Barmada, Sami Chatilla, Majed Choueki, Tony Banna, Ussamah Rabbat, Majed Fassih and many others.

Je suis à la recherche d’oeuvres de ses amies Hala Talas, Nahla Kazak, Jihad Darwaza et sutres hégéries.

I-

Très courageuse et téméraire, Hala Assaad Talas étudiait chez les franciscaines dans l’équivalent de ma classe au Lycée. Elle luttait pour l’Algérie et l’unité Arabe en général.

Elle était souvent persécutée avec Souad Farhat, Aysar Midani, et mounira Azem, par les nones mais défendue par votre humble serviteur et Mme Najah Attar, actuelle vice-présidente, de Syrie, qui était en 1960-1961, la primate des directrices des écoles secondaires pout les filles à Damas.

Lorsqu’elle présentait sa thèse devant les auditoires Egyptiens et Algériens, elle était assailli par les pseudo-progressistes défendeurs des régimes autoritaires. Pendant très longtemps, elle était la bienvenue dans l’audience de Nasser, Sadat et même Mubarak mais mal vue par le généralissime Sissi. On lui a lancé oeufs et tomates.

Elle a hérité beaucoup de son père Assaad Talas décédé en 1959 et son oncle Muhammad Talas dernier député d’Alep élu librement en 1961.

Cher Mussalam,

J'ai promis à Mazen Azem de t'écrire et de le mettre en copie.
C'est la 1ère fois que j'échange avec Mazen et il m'a paru nécessaire que
je t'informe que presque toute notre conversation était à ton sujet.
Pour moi tu es le seul parmi nos amis du Lycée qui a une connaissance
riche de ce que sont les Syriens et que si un jour on doit apprendre plus
sur les Syriens on doit t'interroger. Je lui ai dit que tu connais
toutes les grandes familles, tous les hommes d'état, tous les événements
qui ne sont pas hélas tous répertoriés, si je t'écrit c'est que
j'approuve presque toutes tes idées, et que je souhaite que tu puisses
enrichir ma collection sur les Syriens, cette Syrie qui s'étend jusqu'à ce
qu'on appelle Israël aujourd'hui. Oui, l'histoire doit être réécrite
par des personnes neutres et si attachés à leur pays. Mais est-ce que
c'est tout ce que j'ai échangé à propos de toi avec Mazen? permet-moi de
mettre en copie un camarade d'enfance Imad Abdullah qui a éclairé souvent ma
lanterne et qui contribue à toutes les publications sensibles touchant
tous les sujets qui nous préoccupent tous ;

Dear Mazen, I was looking for you and Mustapha Bustamy and Ghiath Taleb Agha (some of them living in Euclid California very appropriately) for the account of the dearest Hassan Shakib Djabri who was very ea ger for your news, being friend of his unforgettable cousin Adnan Djabbara. You were our senior, with André Touma, Max Yeterian, Marwan Mulki, and Hassan Aoudé at the Engineering Institute of Damascus.
I met with one of your teachers that I took for your uncle because of his solicitude, Dr. Othman Aidi in April 1975 at his office at the Saint-Charles complex (the famous Holiday Inn). I was with Abdallah Adel Mufti. He talked proudly of you because we were seeking among other things to enroll you in the Scientific Studies and Research Centre, instructed by Wassek Chahid and Mustapha Tlass. Dr. Aidi was proud that you specialized brilliantly in Fluid Mechanics, Aerolics (CFD, “computational fluid dynamics). close to his specialization in his youth. He told us to not exhaust ourselves in recruiting brilliant brains because there were obscure and maybe dark forces in the 'Nizam' hostile to our kind of polyglots, polymaths students (Laique, American School etc...) I had to carry my disappointments when I tried to recruit Hassan Djabri, Ghassan Abdullah, Amin Saleh,  Ali Saleh, Ghiath Hachem, Oussamah Adham, Oussamah Husri, Nabil Khayyat, Sami Chatila, Issam Nashawati, Rida Mansour, Abdel Latif Ajlani (Mr. Djbal Kassioun), Ghassan Attar Hassan, late Kamal Awad (Mr. PTT), Sami Khoury and Georges Homsi (often without their knowledge or consent). Even when I succeeded, it was short lived and disappointing as in the case of Jacqeline Saleh, Bicher Hachem and Malaz Maamoun. Jacqueline caused, not by her making, but by my respect for her expertise to clash with some scientific pundits or gurus, they didn't know what is the 'Poly-technique Féminine'? Was it l'École des Femmes, Les Femmes Savantes? Finally, it was them who were the 'Précieuses Ridicules'.
Finally I have to witness that I was told by Full General (four Stars) Hikment Shahabi and my defunct friend Full General Hassan Turkmani (killed in the explosion of 2012) that Two Syrian Scientific doubled as businessmen had helped Hafez Assad enormously in the 1973 war: Shakib Murad al Jabbiri and Othman Munif al Aidi. Cherissime ami: Tu parles de ce courriel? J'en serais honoré. Il y manque les noms de Sami Khiayami et Mansour Farah dans le cas desquels je n'ai joué aucun role, mais qui étaient un trésor précieux pour le Centre. Le très regretté Dr. Maan Azmé a été considéré par l'État Profond des abîmes comme un MLFien malgré qu'il avait quitté le Lycée à la fin du quatrième (saf thamen 8 en Arabe). Il sentait Ustaz Ibrahim Keylani son beau père, moi--même et peut-être le héros Youssef Azmé. Il m'a toujours gracié de son appui et direction. Incroyable gars. Il a été protégé par Bassel Assad parce qu'il l'aidait dans la modélisation des avions: A tout seigneur tout honneur!

SUITE 4

Maan Azmé a participé à évaluer certains de mes élèves lorsque j'enseignais l'informatique à la faculté de génie civil; j'étais très sévère avec mes élèves et Maan Azmé a lancé une boutade à l'un d'eux: "dites de quelle faculté tu viens?" tellement cet élève était brillant; je tenais exprès à ce qu'ils les examine avec moi, c'était un honneur pour moi. Mansour est un très proche ami quant à Sami il a participé avec moi au comité arabe de standardisation des caractères arabes, Watheq Shahid malgré nos différends, a refusé que mon ami Mrayati soit le secrétaire général de ce comité interarabe, sachant que je suis passé au privé, tous ces hommes sont pour moi les piliers de la Syrie moderne; à présent il faut sauver notre pays des différents prédateurs avec d'autres piliers;

SUITE AND END 10/07/2019

Dearest Carola Adnan Salem! Sorry to disturb you again. I guess we are close to the first commemorative day of the passing away of our most beloved Majed Choueki. Is someonene preparing something? Where and when? In general many wish to know the burial sites of Peter Anan Jamil Salem and Majed so they can, eventually, pay their respects, when they pass by Vienna. I may not be able to do it, but my daughter or my niece may replace me, but I'll try my utmost. We will never forget them. We don't talk about it often, but both did something important for Syria and Palestine. Mussalam Khayat!

P.S. I used to send annual flowers to my otherly mother Mrs. Dorothy Choueki at a home for elderlies near Frankfort. I allowed my self to include names of our beloved friends from the Lycée. Since two years I am not getting any feedback! Let's hope for the best.

FIRST CONTRIBUTION OF MUSSALAM KHAYAT

Dearest Friend and brother:
I am very sorry that I cannot attend your seminal meeting next week or so. I am very sick, but nothing serious just cold coupled with my eternal apnea. Some very dear friends tried to contact me on Facebook and LinkedIn.

I am not member to any of these social networks, because I received an email from Facebook in August 2017 telling me,

"Your account is always under assault (hacking) being a Syrian. It seems very ironical that a country that doesn't have decent electronics or army ends up having 4 or five electronic armies." I guess and surmise that they meant the official one under our copain Dr. Samy Khiami, the El Kaida one, the Nusra Front one, The Isis one and some others.

So I cancelled my account. I was advised recently that I was approached by the extraordinary Mouna Kallas and Samir Dahbar, both very dear to me. Mouna, without her knowledge, was our mentor and paragon through her unforgettable brother the late Farès Bahij Kallas. Her knowledge, sagacity and wisdom trickled down, oozed and filtered to us through the memorable Farès. Bicher Barmada, Rafi Touma, Samir Abdulak, Hassan Jabri, Bassem Omari, and the late Majed Choueki and Peter Adnan Salem used to drink every word he would drop or utter. This is not an exhaustive list, there are many others. We thought to be on osmosis with Mouna, General Bahij Kallas ex-chief of Staff of the Syrian Army, Khalil (the hero of the extraordinary congress of Chtoura in 1962, et Nakhla Kallas (the only strategic expert of Syria), etc... We have always been impressed by Ustaz Baladi who told us when we started our 6th class in October 1955, that before us two years ahead, there was a ravishing young girl who was the first in Arabic, French and English and even knew some Spanish that just moved  to the Franciscan school. She was the sister of Farès Kallas. My soaking up and sponging quest and pursuit extended to Georges Chatila through Sami, Shakib Jabri, Haçan Jebbara and Ihsan Kawwas through Hassan, General Zahreddin through Fouad, the impressive

Muhammad Surry Rabbat through Ussama, artillery ex-Colonel Salim Omari through Bassem, Andrée Jeanne Maubert et Salim Adel Abdulhak through Samir, Asma and Muna Tuma thorugh Rafi, Farid Succari and Hafez Djamali through the marvellous Soraya, Thabet El Aris through the outtanding Nahla Monique, Hachem Fassih through Majed, Mr. and Mrs Nasjhawati thorough Issam, the Ajlanis (Hisham and Adel) though gentle Abdel latif, and many others. I owe a special debt to Dr. Amin Dahbar (Samir). When he knew that I was going to study in Belgium, he offered me three books to prepare before enrolling in University: Political Economy by Bertrand Nogaro, Constitutional Law by Maurice Duverger and a book on Accounting. They helped me excel my first year. 
Dear Amin, I have to add all the precious percolating and oozing of wisdom through you and Bicher Barmada coming from the great Hucheimy sisters, your mother and aunt Duria the mother of Bicher.
When I write this I suffer a lot, I hurt and agonise because the output I gave, my yield or return does not match the input of all those wonderful people added to the input of my cousins the Khayyats, Ghazzis, Kuzbaris, Sawwafs and Muftis, Muradis (with their descendants, the Talhunis of Jordan and the Idrissis of Libya).

I feel very parasitic, I told some of my friends who ended Ambassadors, Delegates, Relegates, or High Commissioners of the PLO, "With friends like us, our wretched Arabic nation doesn't need any enemies."
Please accept my excuses for my shortcomings: I suffered since young ages from benign Insulinoma that produces excess Insulin that drains my Sugar reserves in the blood couple with severe apnea.

This trows me into stupor form time to time, That why I am some time stupefied, rarely stupefying and, often, just stupid!

نساء من بلدي لم يأخذن حقهن ولم يأت على ذكرهن احد قد يكون التقصير مني انا اقرب الناس اليها سآتي على ذكر والدتي التي افنت حياتها وهي بخدمة الفقير سواء اثناء عملها بجمعية نقطة الحليب او بعيادتها الخاصة فكرة سريعة عنها اسمها الدكتورة منيرة العظم الخياط انسانة رقيقة انسانية بكل ما في الكلمة من معنى شفافيتها ولطفها لمسهم كل من عرفها تواضعها كان اكبر صفاته إبنة الاستاذ عبدالقادر العظم الوزير ورئيس الجامعة السورية ولدت في اسطنبول والدتها السيدة فائقة ابنة شفيق بك المؤيد العظم نائب سورية في البرلمان العثماني وشهيد من شهداء ٦ ايارمنشأها كافي لان يعطي فكرة عن رقيها دراستها الابتدائية ولغاية البكالوريا كانت على ايدي راهبات الفرنسيسكان مما جعل لغتها الافرنسية بغاية الجودة بعمر الثالثة عشر كتبت اول ديوان شعر لها طبعه والدها انما لم ينشر لانه كان بالافرنسية ٠ كانت اول طالبة مسلمة دخلت كلية الطب في سورية ساعدها على ذلك كون والدها رئيسا للجامعة دعمها مع قريبة لها كي لا تكون الفتاة الوحيدة بين الطلاب الذكور ؛اكملت دراستها بتخصصين طب اطفال ونسائية في باريس بعد ان تزوجت لدى عودتها عملت.مع الدكتور منير السادات في مشفاه بالتوليد ؛توظفت بوزارة الصحة التي انتدبتها للعمل كطبيبة اطفال بجمعية نقطة الحليب ما اعطاها الفرصة لسكب كل قدرتها على العطاء على الاطفال الفقراء وامهاتهم بنفس الوقت عملت طبيبة لعاملات الريجي وكانت لديها عيادتها الخاصة ومع. ذلك لم تقصر بواجباتها تجاهنا نحن اولادها وزوجها نادر ان تجد انسان متفاني كما كانت والدتي امضت عمرها كله بخدمة الاخريناثناء خدمتها بوزارة الصحة ارسلتها الوزارة الى جنيف برفقة وزير الصحة يومها الدكتور مرشد خاطر لتمثل سورية بمؤتمر الصحة العالمية ؛بناءً عليه حصلت على وسام الاستحقاق السوري هذه لمحة مختصرة عن حياتها كانت تتقن ثلاث لغات العربية الافرنسية والتركية قليلا من الانجليزية هذا كان مستوى الطبقة الوسطى في دمشق من اعز صديقاتها كانت الدكتورة لوريس ماهر التي سبقتها بدراسة الطب في الجامعة اليسوعية ببيروت ثم انهت دراستها في جامعة دمشق لتكون اول طبيبة سورية مسيحية ووالدتي اتت بعدها لتكون اول طبيبة سورية مسلمة ثم لمع نجم الدكتورة ام الخير العظم ابنة خالتها كما لمعت اسماء سيدات كثيرات في تلك الحقبة دخلن جميع المجالات وكن رائدات كل واحدة بمجالهاهذا كان مستوى اهالينا والصراحة لم يكن مستوى جيلنا اقل خاصة خريجات مدرسة الفرنسيسكان جميع من عاصرتهم كانوا على مستوى حتى اللوات لم تدخلن مجال العمل كانت سورية تبشر بمستقبل باهر لو لم يتكالب عليها كل من تكالب جيلنا ايضا خرج طبيبات مثل ماجدة الخوري هالة كحال ثريا نحاس عنان حفار مهندسات محاميات كاتبات ؛مثل وداد الطويل لم يبقى منهن واحدة في دمشق الهم الا ماجدة خوري الله يكثر من امثالها لما لها من نشاط ومثابرة اذا كل واحدة منا اخذت نساء محيطها وتكلمت عنه لوجدت ان السوريات ما زلن يتمتعن بمستوى فوق الممتاز ؛هنالك الدكتورة ناديا السقطي الحاصلة على ثلاثة بورد (اطفال ووراثة وغدد صم )أوجدت ثلاث تناظرات اكتشفتها وسجلت باسمها ساكاتي سيندروميس طبعا هي الاخرى موجودة خارج سورية ؛كذلك الشابة التي اصبحت بروفيسورة في جامعة الMىط والتي سجلت على اختراع او اكتشاف استحقت عليه جائزة العبقرية سلمها لها باراك اوباما شخصيا واسمها دينا قتابي ؛وكثيرات لمعن خارج بلدهن للاسف الظروف الحالية ذبحت المجتمع ودفعت الطبقة الفقيرة الى تحت الصفر نحن نعمل جاهدات بالمساعدة واقول وبكل فخر انه لولا طبقة السيدات اللوات تعملن بصمت وهدوء على مساعدة الفقراء لكان الوضع مأساويا اكثر بكثير مما هو عليه النساء السوريات تفانين بالعمل الخيري وخففن الحمل بشكل لا يستهان به عن الدولة فالجمعيات الخيرية غالبيتها جمعيات نسائية الاسماء كثيرة نعرفها وكثيرة لا نعرفهآ؛اترك لباقي المشاركين ذكر ما يعرفوا عن النساء السوريات٠

Le site « mlfcham » a commencé en 2004 avec une galerie photo dédiée au souvenir des promotions 1962 et 1963 (Anciens élèves du Lycée Laïque Franco Arabe de Damas), puis s’ajoutèrent des photos des années 20 (création du Lycée Français de Damas) et des photos de plusieurs réunions qui ont eu lieu à Paris.

En 2007 lors d’une réunion internationale à Florence, il a été décidé de créer un site WEB avec plusieurs rubriques, chaque rubrique est composée de plusieurs sous-rubriques. Les rubriques sont :

Une réorganisation du site vient de s'achever le 10 oct. 2011. Désormais les rubriques affichées sur la barre horizontale de la page d'accueil sont structurées comme suit :

N'hésitez pas à utiliser la rubrique recherche au cas où vous recherchez un sujet spécifique. Avec cette nouvelle organisation l'accès au millier d'articles est ainsi facilité. Le nombre de lecteurs augmente et les deux articles les plus lus sont le poème du regretté Ahmad Matar et « the Egypt protest part 2 » tous les deux ont frôlé le seuil de 20000 lecteurs.

L'objectif de notre réseau social s'oriente de plus en plus vers faire connaître à nos enfants :

le patrimoine de leurs parents (Syrie 100 articles), et l'un des patrimoines d'adoption (France: 50 articles) ; différents aspects de notre vie sociale (Religious issues:50 articles), notre préoccupation majeure (Reform: issues & proposals : 50 articles) ; le fait que l'administrateur en même temps rédacteur en chef  de ce site soit scientifique, la rubrique « Sciences et nouvelles technologies » est aussi favorisée (110 articles). L'humour est indispensable (80 articles), il fait partie d'une rubrique extrêmement riche de notre réseau (Art et culture) qui s'enrichit rapidement et qui totalise aujourd'hui 300 articles.

Il est évident que sans les contributions des adhérents et leur soutien financier ce site n'aurait pas survécu, 2013 a marqué son 4ème anniversaire.

Les publications sont en trois langues, celles des anciens lycéens dispersés dans le monde : Français, Anglais et Arabes.

Devenir membre permet de publier articles, photos et peintures, de participer au Forum de discussion et d'accéder à l'ancienne galerie photo riche de 1000 photos et images.
